Anteater Involvement Fair: Monday, September 19, 2016 11a-3p

The Anteater Involvement Fair is an opportunity for registered campus organizations and UCI departments to share information about their organizations and departments and recruit new members for the academic year.  This event is open to the entire campus community.  The Anteater Involvement Fair is sponsored by Office of Campus Organizations and Associated Students of University of California Irvine in partnership with Student Center & Event Services and UCI Hospitality and Dining Services.

The Anteater Involvement Fair will be held from 11am -3 pm.

CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS

You will check in  starting at 9am at  any of the 3 Information Tables located throughout the park. (please see map) Any person from the organization may check-in.  You will be given an official Anteater Invlolvement Fair program when you check-in. Please remember to bring water bottles as it will get very hot.

Booth Reservation & Equipment

  • An authorized signer must request a booth through the link provided on the registration confirmaton email to signers
  • A table and 2 chairs is provided to every participating organization, which will be set up for the organization before the event begins. Organizations cannot bring their own table, but they can bring extra chairs and a canopy.
  • Canopies MUST be weighed down by something (i.e. stakes, rocks, heavy bags, etc) or you will be asked to take it down.
  • An organization representative must check in at an Information Booth 
  • There is a $15 participation fee for the fair
  • Canopies are not available for rent - must provide your own
  • Booths are a 10' by 10' space. Stay within your designated booth area.  
  • RCOs cannot sell or distribute any perishable food at the fair -- non-perishable food items may be passed out (e.g. chips, water, candy, etc.)
  • RCOs found in violation will be asked to leave the fair
  • No fundraising whatsoever is allowed
  • Anteater Involvement Fair booths can have sound, but only in Aldrich Park for battery operated radios and small speaker only.  No DJ’s or large speakers will be allowed. 
  • RCOs found in violation will be asked to leave the fair  
  • No vehicles will be allowed in or onto Aldrich Park or on Ring Mall 
  • Use Parking Lot 7 (located behind the Greenhouse, near Humanities) to quickly unload and load your vehicle. Do not drive up the service roads to unload or load, as this may result in a parking citation. 
  • Bring water and sunblock for everyone participating in the boothing experience
  • Make certain you develop a method to gather prospective individual's information (e.g., sign up sheet, etc.)
  • Be creative with your booth to attract attention (e.g., colorful sign, singing, place someone in front and behind your table, etc.)
  • Practice a 2 minute introduction about your organization to provide to prospective individuals as they approach your booth
  • Create a take away. Make certain prospective individuals leave your booth with some information about your organization
  • Communicate your location to other members helping with your booth
  • Charge your electrical devices (e.g., ipads, iphone, etc.)
