Sherwynn Umali

Sherwynn is a UCI alumna (class of 2003) and received her Master’s of Arts in Education, Leadership, and Policy Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park. She joined the Student Life & Leadership staff in 2005 as a program coordinator in the Cross-Cultural Center and has been the director of Campus Organizations since 2009. Sherwynn's program areas include the Anteater Involvement Fair, Anteater Awards, Winter Leadership Conference, the Dean’s Fund, and the Campus Organizations Resources and Education (CORE) Program. In this capacity, she advises on organizational management, program planning, funding, leadership development, provides resources, and advovates for UCI’s 600 Registered Campus Organizations.

Having wonderful students who take initiative to do great work motivates Sherwynn to her best for them every day. She appreciates the time and dedication that students put into their passions that in turn make UCI a more positive and fun campus community. Sherwynn likes to spend her free time with her family and close friends, doing creative and meaningful work, and brushing up on her amateur photography skills and freelance graphic design projects. 

Brian Clarke

Brian joined the Student Life and Leadership family in July 2007. Brian received his Masters degree in College Student Affairs in 2007 from Eastern Illinois University and his Bachelors degree in Communication from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2003. Prior to beginning his masters program he worked for two years as Regional Director for Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.  As a full-time traveling consultant, Brian assisted SigEp chapters in effective operations and chapter consultation. He also worked as a Graduate Intern for Greek Life at Miami University in Oxford, OH and held a Graduate Assistantship at the Counseling and Student Development Office at Eastern Illinois University.

Brian enjoys making a difference in the lives of the students at UC Irvine and helping them develop into good leaders and great people. In his free time, Brian likes to freestyle rap and attend Dodgers games. He also currently volunteers as an advisor for his fraternity at Cal Poly Pomona. Brian can also be seen on campus announcing Men’s Basketball and Women’s Soccer. Rip ‘Em Eaters!!

Nicole Inouye
Greek Life Advisor

Nicole has been a part of Student Life and Leadership since March 2007. Nicole received her Bachelors degree in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine. After graduation, she worked as a Congressional Fellow for Congresswoman Patsy T. Mink and a staff member for Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald supporting her in areas such as the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus and legislative planning meetings. Nicole also served as a research consultant for Ayers& Associates focusing on the structure of alumni giving programs at Traditionally White Institutions (TWIs) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Nicole feels that UC Irvine provides students with many opportunities to get involved and belong to the campus community. "It is rewarding to see how a student develops from their experiences and I am thrilled to be a part of that transition. Conversely, I believe that we can learn a great deal from the insight of our students." Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and reading.
