Darlene Esparza, M.S.

A proud Anteater since 2005, Darlene currently serves as the Director of Office of Campus Organizations at the University of California, Irvine.  Since joining the team in November 2015, she oversees the registration process for 600+ registered campus organizations and provides education on insurance and liability, risk management, food safety, leadership development, and event planning.  She also coordinates volunteer and community service activities within Student Life & Leadership, that include the UCI Alternative Break program. 

A first generation college student, Darlene received her BA in Psychology from the University of California, Davis in 2000, and in 2004 received her MA in Counseling, Student Affairs, from the University of San Diego.  She is involved with NASPA as a mentor for the undergraduate fellows program (NUFP). Prior to this appointment with the Office of Campus Organizations, Darlene served as assistant director of the Cross-Cultural Center, director of the Center for Service in Action and managed the Veteran Services office at UCI. 

Darlene enjoys traveling, and served as Resident Director for the May 2012 short-term program, and Spring 2012 voyage with Semester at Sea.  Darlene enjoys her work in higher education since she has the opportunity to learn from the students she interacts with and share in their personal and professional development while at UCI. 


Timothy Pham, M.S.
Program Coordinator

Timothy joined the Student Life & Leadership Department in September 2014 as the Program Coordinator for Campus Organizations. In this role, Timothy is responsible for outreach workshops, event planning, departmental marketing, and risk management education to over 600 Registered Campus Organizations. (RCOs). Timothy also leads the yearly Winter Leadership Retreat and provides support in the areas of program coordination and assessment, supervision of Campus Organization Resources and Education (CORE) Consultant student intern team, and the development of marketing strategies including the management of the department's social media channels.

Before joining UCI, Timothy served as the Foreign English Instructor and English Ambassador for the Gangwon-Do Provincial Office of Education in South Korea. He also spent time working on issues of health care policy & advocacy in a non-profit organization, where he conducted extensive research while effectively securing critical data and resources for policy develoment efforts.

Timothy obtained both his bachelor's degree in Political Science and Master's Degree in Higher Education at California State University, Fullerton, where was named as the university's 2012 Asian Pacific Islander Outstanding Graduate. Timothy enjoys poetry, basketball, foreign films, and finding the perfect cup of coffee.

Selina Bustillos

Selina Bustillos
Administrative Resources Manager

Selina graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a bachelor’s degree in Human Services. As an undergraduate student she worked for University Outreach, New Student Programs, and Upward Bound as a student coordinator, orientation leader, and intern. Her co-curricular activities included being an Ambassador for the Asian American Pacific Islander CSU-wide initiative to promote higher education to underrepresented AAPI communities and she was also a NASPA Undergraduate Fellow (NUFP). Her involvements have led her to find her passion to work in Student Affairs.
